GoodHeart Collaborative helps mission-driven people and organizations stay healthy, connected, and effective.

GoodHeart Collaborative

You started with a heart to serve. You were never meant to disappear beneath it.

GoodHeart is a private network for nonprofit and social-enterprise leaders who are carrying work that matters deeply and need a healthier, more connected way to keep carrying it.

Kristen, founder of GoodHeart Collaborative

“I know what it feels like to love the mission and slowly lose yourself inside it.”

Maybe this feels familiar

You remember why you began. But the work does not feel the way it once did.

You wanted to change something. Protect someone. Build what was missing. You said yes because the need mattered, and because you believed you could help. Then the mission grew. So did the pressure, the responsibility, the people depending on you, and the number of things only you seemed able to hold.

What happens over time

The heart is still there. It is just buried.

The work follows you home.

The unresolved decision, funding concern, staffing gap, urgent need, or person you could not help stays with you long after the day ends.

Your role begins to consume your identity.

You become the title, the fixer, the responsible one, the person who keeps going. It gets harder to remember who you are beyond what everyone needs from you.

Connection becomes another task.

You are surrounded by people and still feel alone. There are resources, peers, and potential partners, but finding the right support takes energy you no longer have.

You do not need to care less. You need a way to carry the mission that does not require losing yourself to it.
This is bigger than self-care

Burnout is not proof that you were not strong enough for the work.

It is often the result of a person carrying emotional weight, organizational strain, limited capacity, fragmented support, and relentless external pressure for too long. That is why GoodHeart does not treat burnout as an individual wellness problem.

We look at the person, the organization, and the network around them.

I did not build GoodHeart from the outside

I built it because I became the person I was trying to help.

I spent years building and leading mission-driven organizations, including a licensed residential program and school serving teenage survivors of sex trafficking. I carried the funding, staffing, compliance, community need, and emotional weight of work I cared about deeply.

I knew how to build programs, mobilize people, and keep going. What I did not know was how to recognize the ways the mission had begun consuming my identity, health, and capacity.

Eventually, my body forced me to stop. That experience changed the question I was asking. It was no longer, “How do we help caring people do more?” It became, “How do we help them remain whole while doing work that asks so much of them?”

That question became GoodHeart Collaborative.
Where we began and where we are going

The original heart. A more complete response.

GoodHeart is not abandoning its original purpose. It is returning to it with everything we have learned about the connection between personal capacity, organizational health, relationships, and sustainable impact.

The original GoodHeart

Created for people who spend their lives caring for others.

The first app offered burnout and compassion-fatigue assessments, expert support, guided reflection, practical interventions, peer connection, gratitude, and space to celebrate victories.

  • Launched in 2020
  • Shaped with expert contributors
  • Tested by helping professionals
GoodHeart now

Built for the full reality mission-driven leaders carry.

The new GoodHeart brings together personal insight, organizational capacity signals, curated relationships, resource exchange, and cross-organization coordination in one private network.

  • Recognize strain earlier
  • Change patterns that keep repeating
  • Find relevant people and support
  • Coordinate for greater impact
What GoodHeart makes possible

A healthier way to carry work that matters.

GoodHeart starts with the human being, strengthens the organization, and builds the relationships that make the entire sector less isolated and fragmented.

01

Know what is happening beneath the surface

Recognize personal and organizational capacity strain earlier. Name the hidden patterns shaping health, leadership, relationships, and decisions.

See clearly
02

Turn insight into a different response

Use the GoodHeart Method to move from recognition to evidence, choice, practice, and a specific action you can revisit over time.

Act differently
03

Stop carrying the work alone

Connect with trusted peers, surface needs and offers, find relevant resources, and coordinate with organizations that can help.

Carry it together
The GoodHeart Method

Come back to yourself, then move forward differently.

The five-part Method helps leaders uncover what has been driving their patterns and turn each insight into a finding and action. The work is private, practical, and designed to live beyond a single moment of reflection.

This is the inner journey inside the larger GoodHeart experience.

01IdentityWho am I beyond what I carry?
02ReframeWhat belief is shaping this pattern?
03CourageWhat am I avoiding that is costing capacity?
04ResilienceWhat signs tell me I need to respond earlier?
05Purpose & ServiceWhere is service aligned, and where is it unsustainable?
The outcome

Not less committed. More whole, connected, and effective.

GoodHeart is designed to help mission-driven leaders protect what made the work meaningful in the first place without asking them to keep paying for it with their identity, health, or isolation.

Recognize capacity strain before it becomes crisis.
Make clearer decisions without carrying them alone.
Reconnect with who you are beyond the role.
Find the people, resources, and partnerships that fit the need.
Build sustainable impact without losing the heart that began it.
Help shape what comes next

If you are carrying the mission, your experience belongs in what we build.

GoodHeart is inviting a small group of nonprofit and social-enterprise leaders to share what leadership feels like right now and help shape the next version of the platform.

No pressure and no polished answers required. Just an honest conversation about what leaders need.
